The main reason behind it is still not confirmed. You can have a faulty battery, faulty motherboard or you just might have a device with a manufacturing fault. Most of the time your device will be replaced with a new one if it’s still in the warranty period otherwise you might have to take it to a repair shop.

But there are a few tricks that will save you a lot of time and money. You should try method 1 first. If that fails, then try method 2 to troubleshoot the problem and hopefully you will find where the problem is. Before trying these methods make sure you have checked these things

Things to check before trying Method 1 and 2

Method 1: Unplug battery and AC adapter

Note: The steps of removing and inserting the battery might differ a little bit depending on your specific model.  If you are not sure then follow the steps mentioned in the user manual (that comes with the device and is available online) of your Sony Vaio.

Method 2: Unplug everything and direct AC method

If you recently installed a new RAM in your device then take it out by following the user manual of that came with your Sony Vaio or by going to a repair shop and then try the method 2. If your laptop works then that means your RAM was faulty. If none of the methods mentioned here work then contact customer support or go to a repair shop near your home.
